10 Eminent Leaders Honoured for Asia Pacific and ASEAN Business Leader Awards

10 prominent from the public sector, private sector, academia, and civil society have been recognised for their contributions to the Asia Pacific region at an event in Kuala Lumpur today.

YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Rohani Binti Abdul Karim, chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia (APPGM) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) officiated the ceremony.

“I trust that as recipients, you will spur further action in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation towards sustainable development amongst your respective companies and communities,” said a former Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Rohani Karim.

Also present was H.E. Ms Pamela Dunn, High Commissioner of New Zealand to Malaysia who delivered a speech address. Dunn touched on the achievements of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) on fostering regional solidarity in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the recipients for the Asia Pacific Outstanding Business Leader Lifetime Achievement Awards are Dato’ Haji Azmar Talib (CEO of TRX City), Dato’ Dr Anas Alam Faizli (CEO of ProtectHealth Corporation), Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr Mike Chan (Director, European Wellness Biomedical Group), Mr Ang Tiou Oun (Managing Director, Jumbo Global Industries), Mr Andrew Cheah (Group CEO, SFY Global Network) and Mr Dennis Ang Eng Hooi (Managing Director, EKA Noodles).

The recipients for the ASEAN Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Awards areDatuk Nora Abd Manaf (Group Chief Human Capital Officer, Maybank), Mr Chan Kok Long (Executive Director, iPay88 Holding), Prof Dato’ Dr Rashila Ramli (Principal Fellow, IKMAS, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) and Prof Dato’ Dr Chin Yew Sin, JP (Chairman, Bioplus Life Corporation).

The event was organised by KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific (KSI).Tan Sri Michael Yeoh, President of KSI, said that they were delighted to honour the 10 eminent leaders for their contributions in developing to ASEAN and Asia-Pacific.
