National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) Chief Executive Officer, YBrs. Professor Dr. Md Nasir Ibrahim today awarded two local celebrities, Diana Danielle and Tong Bing Yu for the “People’s Choice Award – Top Celebrity of the Year” and “Outstanding Actress of the Year Award” respectively, at the Top 100 Talent Awards 2021 and Malaysia Fashion, Modeling & Pageant Awards 2021, organized by Miss Malaysia Kebaya (MMK) & Selangor Fashion.
“I am pleased to announce that despite all the ups and downs we have had in our past 2 years during the many phases of the pandemic, we are still able to proudly live and celebrate the core value of being a Malaysian – which is to continue embracing one’s true self through creativity, culture & arts, as well as entertainment,” said Dr. Jason Hee, founder of Top 100 Talent Awards and Malaysia Fashion, Modeling & Pageant Awards.

Using Entertainment As a Platform the Duo Have Promoted Tourism
This year, many prominent figures were the recipients of awards for various categories, such as Amber Chia for Outstanding Supermodel of the Year 2021, Carrie Lee winner of MFMPA 2021 Icon Award for Pageantry, Bon Zainal for Outstanding Creative Director (Fashion) of the Year 2021. Winnie K bagged the Outstanding Singer of the Year 2021 while Datin Winnie Loo, took home the award for Outstanding Creative Director (Hairstyling) of the Year 2021. Datuk Nancie Foo, Outstanding Producer of the Year 2021. The winner of Outstanding Social Media Influencer of the Year 2021 went to Leng Yein.
With Malaysia’s enormous list of talented industry players who are capable of promoting Malaysia as an admired tourist destination, both Diana Danielle and Tong Bing Yu had exceeded expectations by promoting tourism domestically and internationally in a multitude of ways. With three million followers on Instagram, the American-born Malaysian actress and singer, Diana Danielle, has significantly contributed to the local entertainment industry through her acting and singing performances since the age of 11. While Tong Bing Yu, is a well-known personality in Malaysia, Singapore, and China for her leading roles in Chinese films. They both have successfully upheld Malaysia as a tourist destination and promoted the country to a huge audience because of their influence.

Diana Danielle shocked everyone in attendance at the awards ceremony when she announced her latest achievement – transitioning into becoming a producer to assist local talents and the entertainment industry while taking them to greater heights in the next few years. Apart from that, she also revealed taking on a brand ambassadorship role with a multi-million-dollar brand and the details of this new role will be revealed on her social media platforms soon.
The organizers of Top 100 Talent Awards didn’t just present the awards, but they also gave back to the local arts industry. Parts of the proceeds from the awards ceremony were channeled to the Rotary Club of Pantai Valley to aid local artists by purchasing personal artworks, that will in turn, encourage more artists to express their artworks.
