Liverpool Legend and the current manager of Scottish Premiership football club Rangers FC, Steven Gerrard is expected to be making a move back to England and take on the reigns at Aston Villa.

It was reported by Sky Sports news that he is expected to be appointed as Aston Villa’s manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Aston Villa is currently without a manager after the sacking of Dean Smith on Sunday and this has put Gerrard as one of their top candidates for the job.

It is widely reported that a total of £3m will be paid as a compensation to Rangers FC since Gerrard and his coaching staff are still in active contracts with the club until the year 2024.

The rumour of him being linked to Aston Villa was spread further when a footage that appeared on social media on Wednesday of him arriving in London by train. However, the reason behind his return to the capital was to celebrate the birthday of a close friend.

It is expected that he will be bringing along the coaches – Gary McAllister, Tom Culshaw, Michael Beale, and Jordan Milsom with him from Rangers FC to Aston Villa. However, Gerrard’s exit will be proven more likely felt by the Rangers fans, after he ended a decade-long wait for the Scottish premiership trophy in May.
